Fall Things To Try

By Tony Berardo

Fall is a magical time of year. The leaves change color, the often stifling heat of the summer tapers away into cozy sweater season and a host of activities make their way onto our annual to-do lists. In particular, fall is a great season to spend quality time with your partner — and there are a ton of fall activities that you can do to bring you both closer together.

With this in mind, here’s 5 things you should do with your partner this fall!

Go for a forest walk.

There’s no better way to enjoy the changing color of the leaves — not to mention feel them satisfyingly crunch beneath your feet — than going for a forest walk.

Forests are an autumnal haven and a great place to enjoy a romantic walk with your partner, to get away from the noise of the city and have long, meaningful conversations that allow you to re-connect with one another.

Of course you could also get our November box, which includes an easy "list of fun things” to do this Fall. You can find our box in our SHOP but these boxes will be sold by Black Friday 2023.

Roast chestnuts on an open fire.

Nothing says fall like the taste of roasted chestnuts,  and autumn is the perfect time to cozy up by a campfire. It’s not too cold that you won’t be able to feel your face, but it’s not too warm that you can’t appreciate the heat of the flames.

Roasted chestnuts are a low maintenance snack to make on an outdoor fire or grill: simply score the nuts with a knife, pop them into a cast iron pan and place them over the fire pit — and your chestnuts will be roasted and ready to eat in no time.

Choose & carve a Halloween pumpkin.

When you think of fall, it’s very likely that the first holiday to come to mind is Halloween – and Halloween is almost synonymous with pumpkins.

With this in mind, going to a pumpkin patch to choose a pumpkin is an essential day out to have with your partner in fall. Then, you can get creative together by carving your pumpkin and using it as a Halloween decoration in your home.

Attend a fall festival.

There are tons of fall festivals that take place all over the US, serving classic fall food and drink such as apple fritters, pumpkin pie, smoked meats, ciders and beers, with activities such as corn/maize mazes, hay rides and carnival rides being commonplace.

Or, if you prefer something a little spookier, fall festivals like the Salem Haunted Happenings festival offer a darker, Halloween-themed alternative.

Cuddle up for a scary movie night.

Though there are plenty of events to attend — and things to do — outdoors with your partner in fall, sometimes the best fall nights are the ones you spend at home.

So, why not treat yourself to a night of movies and snacks (which you can even make fall themed — and it’s a great excuse to eat a load of Halloween candy).

And, of course, there’s no better person to watch scary movies with than your partner, as the perfect type of film to watch cuddled up on the couch.
